FREE RANGE EGGS
We are a registered producer of Free range eggs and hold DEFRA approval to sell to the general public as well as to third parties (local B&Bs).
All our hens are rescued ex-battery hens and live a full free-range life. They get all our mealtime scraps and we also buy bread for them, as the kids love throwing it to them. We also encourage visitors to throw out their mealtime scraps during the daylight hours, as I am sure it is the variety of food they get that makes their eggs taste so good!
We sell our eggs at the bottom of the drive and have an honesty box for payment. We have been so touched that almost everyone buying our eggs has been so honest and it makes us realise how lucky we are living in such a friendly area. We have found that we sell more eggs than we receive payment for on Bank Holidays, so we no longer sell eggs on busy traffic days!
Visitors to our barns are welcome to pick-your-own eggs for breakfast.
Hugh and Jamies campaign to get people buying free-range has been fantastic, but sadly we cannot currently keep up with demand. More hen rescues are hopefully planned soon.
